Staff Nurse: PICU

Responsibilities

• Affords nursing care requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill.
• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and directs nursing care focusing on family-centered care.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary for providing care to patients of all ages and developmental statuses.
• Performs leadership and professional duties.
• Performs patient-centered care duties.
• Participates in quality improvement and safety duties.
• Supports provider staff and collaborates for efficient operations and quality care.
• Supports the development and education of staff members for clinically related issues.
• Mentors and acts as a preceptor for new employees.
• Supports evidence-based practice.
• Supports systems-based practice.
• Supports informatics and technology duties.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to other staff members.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure to prioritize and complete tasks accurately and timely.
• Experience working with various levels within an organization.
• Experience in healthcare.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Experience working with an electronic medical record system (i.e. EPIC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association is required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience is preferred.
• Pediatric cardiac critical care experience preferred.
