Responsibilities
- Affords nursing care requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill.
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and directs nursing care focusing on family-centered care.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary for providing care to patients of all ages and developmental statuses.
- Performs leadership and professional duties.
- Performs patient-centered care duties.
- Participates in quality improvement and safety duties.
- Supports provider staff and collaborates for efficient operations and quality care.
- Supports the development and education of staff members for clinically related issues.
- Mentors and acts as a preceptor for new employees.
- Supports evidence-based practice.
- Supports systems-based practice.
- Supports informatics and technology duties.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to other staff members.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure to prioritize and complete tasks accurately and timely.
- Experience working with various levels within an organization.
- Experience in healthcare.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience working with an electronic medical record system (i.e. EPIC).
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association is required.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience is preferred.
- Pediatric cardiac critical care experience preferred.
