Staff Development Specialist I - O’Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center
About the role
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a large agency responsible for various health and human services. O’Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is a specialized facility focusing on the care of adults with neurocognitive disorders.
Responsibilities
- Identify organizational knowledge gaps and determine training objectives.
- Aid in designing training materials, manuals, and instructional procedures.
- Deliver in-person, on-the-job, and specialized training sessions.
- Manage administrative tasks within the Learning Management System (LMS).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- One year of experience in a training or teaching role, or one year of experience in a human service, counseling, or training program.
- Certification to teach CPR through the American Heart Association, or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
Qualifications
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required. However, candidates with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and demonstrated skills in assessing, planning, executing, evaluating, and adapting training to meet organizational needs are preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Considerable knowledge of training theory, principles, and techniques.
- Considerable knowledge of capabilities and uses of audiovisual aids and other training tools and resources.
- Ability to develop course outlines and lesson plans.
- Demonstrated skill in assessing, planning, executing, evaluating, and adapting training to meet organizational needs.

Pay
The salary grade range for this position is $47,703 - $83,479. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
Schedule
The workday schedule is Monday - Friday / 8:00am-5:00pm.
