About the Role

The Staff Development Nurse (RN) plans, organizes, and directs staff education, orientation, and infection control programs within a skilled nursing community. The core focus is ensuring clinical competency, regulatory compliance, staff development, infection control, and fostering a culture of continuous learning to support quality resident care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing and clinical staff
  • Coordinate staff scheduling related to training and orientation
  • Lead infection prevention initiatives in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure staff competencies are maintained and documented
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify learning needs and address performance gaps
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, safety, and quality improvement

Requirements

  • Current RN license and graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to develop effective educational content and maintain records
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs and maneuvering up to 100 lbs
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems
