About the Role
The Staff Development Nurse (RN) plans, organizes, and directs staff education, orientation, and infection control programs within a skilled nursing community. The core focus is ensuring clinical competency, regulatory compliance, staff development, infection control, and fostering a culture of continuous learning to support quality resident care.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement educational programs for nursing and clinical staff
- Coordinate staff scheduling related to training and orientation
- Lead infection prevention initiatives in compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Ensure staff competencies are maintained and documented
- Collaborate with leadership to identify learning needs and address performance gaps
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, safety, and quality improvement
Requirements
- Current RN license and graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
- Ability to develop effective educational content and maintain records
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs and maneuvering up to 100 lbs
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems
