Responsibilities
- Assess learning needs and design in-service and continuing education programs based on quality assurance data to meet needs and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate the annual training plan.
- Create specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles on a regular basis.
- Work with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is held to the highest standard and all facility policies and procedures are carried out by every staff member.
- Serve as the Infection Prevention/Control Coordinator, designing systems and approving actions to prevent, control, and monitor reports of infections or potential infections among residents and staff.
Requirements
- Must hold a current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required.
- Background or training in infection control is preferred.
- Current CPR certificate.
