Staff Development Coordinator RN
About the role
The Staff Development Registered Nurse (SDCRN) is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating the center's Staff Development Program. This role also involves performing clinical tasks, assisting in other departments, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Affirms employees' compliance with the Company's Code of Conduct through training and education.
- Maintains accurate records of all training sessions and ensures they comply with state, federal, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors employee performance and addresses any non-compliance issues promptly.
- Develops and implements an orientation program for new hires, rehired employees, and contract workers.
- Conducts or coordinates new employee job training and CPR training.
- Assesses resident needs based on staff capabilities and develops appropriate training programs.
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing (DNS) to ensure clinical competency of nursing staff through observed skills evaluations and annual competency assessments.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a BS degree preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.
- Current with state Continuing Education (CE) requirements.
- Three years of nursing experience, with one year in a long-term care setting.
- One year of experience as an instructor preferred.

- Skilled in developing and conducting training programs.
- Skilled in work assessment.
- Effective communication skills, including interaction with residents and their families, and across organizational levels.
- Knowledge of state and federal requirements for accreditation and certification.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse resident and employee population.
