Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective orientation and ongoing education program for all new and existing employees.
- Cookordinate and oversee all mandatory in-service education programs in accordance with federal, state, and facility requirements.
- Ensure all direct care staff receive required training and maintain competency standards.
- Monitor and document Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) annual in-service requirements, ensuring completion of at least 12 hours of education each year.
- Assess staff competencies and identify educational opportunities to improve performance and quality of care.
- Revise educational programs based on changes in resident needs, facility assessments, regulatory updates, and staff development goals.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, certifications, and documentation for regulatory compliance and survey readiness.
- Create systems that encourage staff feedback and identify additional training needs, including emerging healthcare concerns.
- Collaborate with department leaders to coordinate educational programs, guest speakers, and specialized training sessions.
- Prepare reports and recommendations regarding staff education, competency, and professional development initiatives.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and excellence throughout the facility.
- Serve as the primary leader responsible for the facility's Staff Development and Education Program.
Qualifications
- Current Florida RN or LPN license in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting.
- Previous experience supervising staff and conducting education or training programs preferred.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and educate employees across multiple departments.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, creativity, and initiative.
- Proficient with documentation and recordkeeping systems.
