Staff Assistant, Office of Educational Affairs
What You'll Do
The Staff Assistant performs diverse duties to meet the programmatic goals of the OEA and serves as a source of information and problem-solving for students, faculty, staff, and other constituents. The Staff Assistant will provide administrative support, including coordinating meetings and generating and editing reports, organizing and creating student group assignments for educational programs, managing spreadsheets for logistical aspects of educational sessions, and communicating with students and faculty regarding educational programming.
Serves as primary contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the Thompson Clinical Skills and Simulation Center (CSSC) and supports educational programming conducted there:
- Serves as initial contact and resource for internal and external customers;
- Communicates on behalf of manager or other team members of the OEA to explain or disseminate information.
- Supports organization and operations associated with educational programming events at the CSSC, across educational programs that use the space (MD, PA, DPT, Dental, clinical affiliates, industry, etc).
- Investigates and works to resolve customer problems and concerns
- Recommends enhancements to improve department and customer service
- Aid with exam proctoring and exam administration for assessments conducted in the CSSC
- May handle confidential or sensitive information
Provides administrative support and coordinates office operations:
- Orders and maintains office supplies,
- Works with vendors and staff to maintain equipment
- Organizes and schedules appointments and meetings
- Recommends changes or enhancements to office operations or environment
What We're Looking For
- Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience typically acquired by: High School Diploma and 2-4 years of administrative experience or 2-4 years
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including word processing, editing, graphics, spreadsheet, and database knowledge.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years experience
Pay Range
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
