About the role
The Staff Accountant II position provides accounting, reporting, analytical, and internal control support for Old National Bank and its affiliates. This role serves as a key contributor to the integrity and accuracy of the Bank's financial records and reporting processes. The position will work with all areas of the bank, including Accounting, Finance, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Financial Analysis, Tax, Wealth, Loan, and Deposit Operations.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process
- Complete account reconciliations and ensure stale outstanding items are cleared timely
- Review daily bank activity and propose adjusting entries as needed
- Complete account analysis on accounts/tasks
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance accounting processes
- Fulfill ad-hoc and periodic reporting/data requests for other departments, managers, and auditors
- Assist with the compliance and documentation of SOX controls
- Maintain procedures and internal controls related to responsibilities
- Support internal and external audit requests
Requirements
- 2-4 years accounting experience in banking or related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required for recent graduates with no experience)
- Advanced PC skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency working in spreadsheets
- Strong time management and analytical skills
- Understanding of US GAAP
- Ability to resolve outstanding issues with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities/projects under tight timeframes

Pay
The salary range for this position is $44,700/yr - $84,500/yr plus bonus. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on factors such as specific responsibilities, candidate’s relevant skills and experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.
