St Joseph General Refrigeration Technician - All Shifts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems.
• Maintain and repair production equipment, troubleshoot issues, and interact with plant personnel.
• Perform preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs, emergency mechanical or electrical repairs, and other plant equipment troubleshooting.
• Understand boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics.
• Pass a HAZ-Mat physical and obtain certification as an Emergency Responder Technician Level.
• Minimize downtime by addressing equipment and system failures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent education required.
• RETA Operator 1 certification required; RETA Operator 2 and 3 certifications preferred.
• Basic computer skills for logging information, processing work orders, and completing documentation.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance including pneumatics, PLCs, motor controls, and shop equipment operation.
• Ability to communicate effectively and perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally, stand for up to 12 hours per day, work in confined and tall spaces, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Experience with basic math skills, percentages, fractions, and measurements.
