About the role
We are seeking Maintenance and Refrigeration Technicians to maintain and enhance our facilities' equipment, ensuring safety and operational efficiency. This role involves cross-functional collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and minimizing downtime due to equipment or system failures. Technicians play a vital role in maintaining team member safety and influencing company performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance support for ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems with minor supervision.
- Apply troubleshooting skills to production equipment and interact effectively with plant personnel to achieve goals.
- Perform robust preventative maintenance, refrigeration repairs, and emergency mechanical or electrical repairs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment.
- Understand boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics.
- Pass a HAZ-Mat physical and complete training to become a certified Emergency Responder Technician Level; participate on the Emergency Response Team.
- Minimize downtime due to equipment and system failures.
Requirements
- 3+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent.
- 1 year of industrial maintenance education (e.g., industrial maintenance diploma or current enrollment in a technical school) may substitute for experience.
- Certification and experience as RETA Operator 1 required; RETA Operator 2 and 3 certifications preferred.
- Basic computer skills for logging information, processing work orders, and using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Effective communication and basic math skills (percentages, fractions, measurements).
Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand on hard surfaces for up to 12 hours per day.
- Comfort working in confined and tall spaces, climbing ladders, operating lifts, bending, and stooping.
- Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from -25°F to over 100°F; outside work may also be required.
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance, including pneumatics, PLCs, motor controls, and shop equipment operation, is desired.
Pay
Pay range is $32.98 to $36.43 per hour, depending on experience. A $0.85 shift differential is also provided.
