Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor refrigeration system components.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs as scheduled.
- Troubleshoot and repair various pieces of equipment.
- Support and train other IMTs on preventive maintenance tasks.
- Interpret specifications and work orders.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance equipment uptime.
- Commit to continuous improvement and adhere to company policies.
- Work independently and utilize time efficiently.
- Accurately track work assignments, account for parts, and complete paperwork.
- Perform all assigned duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
- 2 years of previous experience in at least one maintenance discipline.
- A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- A Certificate/Diploma in Industrial Maintenance or a similar area is strongly preferred.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Follow diagrams, manuals, and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Communicate effectively within the organization.
- Take accurate measurements and maintain paperwork.
- Make decisions independently with minimal supervision.
- Read and understand written instructions.
- Have basic mathematical skills.
- Communicate clearly.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Previous experience in a Refrigeration maintenance position.
- Industrial Refrigeration Certification.
- Welding equipment and parts using mig, tig, and stick methods.
- Perform mill/lathe work as needed.
- Perform plumbing work as needed.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands/arms, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must wear required PPE including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hardhat, safety vest, gloves, and hearing protection.
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
- Work in a food processing plant with a high noise level.
- May work in refrigerated and non-refrigerated areas with temperature ranges from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to 90+ degrees Fahrenheit.
- Position requires working around processing plant equipment.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, an IMT is frequently required to stand, walk, have hands/finger dexterity, reach with hands/arms, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, climb, speak and hear.
- The IMT is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass Hazmat physical.
