About the role
Under direct supervision completes tasks, according to skill level, to assist surgery personnel in providing nursing care and surgical services to patients in the operating room area.
Responsibilities
- Completes tasks, according to skill level, to assist surgery personnel in providing nursing care and surgical services to patients in the operating room area.
- May assist with patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring during surgical procedures.
- Assists with maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring proper sterilization of equipment.
- May assist with patient transport between the operating room and recovery area.
- Performs basic patient care duties such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collecting specimens.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred Education: Successful completion of Medical Terminology Course.
- Preferred Experience: Previous Nurse aide and/or phlebotomy experience in acute care setting.
- Required certification: BLS certified.
Qualifications
- Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
