About the role

The UW Medicine Outpatient Surgery Center at Harborview is a five operating room surgical unit with supporting pre-operative, post-operative, and sterile processing departments. The Center provides daytime surgical procedures to the community of patients that meet developed criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, feeding assistance, snacks, and repositioning; document care provided in patient charts.
  • Absorb and document vital signs when delegated by RN; monitor and document intake and output.
  • Support patient care throughout the unit as needed and communicate effectively with RNs and other Health Assistants to ensure patient-centered care.
  • Clean and maintain operating rooms and patient bays to support surgical readiness and hygiene standards.
  • Stock and replenish medical supplies in operating rooms and pre/post-op bays.
  • Perform other support duties as assigned, within scope of practice.
  • Stock and replenish linens and patient nourishments.

Requirements

  • Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) with the State of Washington required.
  • Six months experience involving customer service in a health care setting OR six months experience involving direct patient care OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Valid American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers upon hire.

Compensation, Benefits And Position Details

Pay Range Minimum: $25.85 hourly Pay Range Maximum $37.00 hourly
