We're looking for a Senior Technical Training Content Specialist to join our dynamic team at Easy Ice! This role is crucial for ensuring our technicians have the best possible training to provide top-notch service.
About the role
As the Senior Technical Training Content Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, governing, and continuously improving all technical learning and documentation that support Easy Ice's field operations. You'll own the full lifecycle of written and digital training content across onboarding, the LMS, SOPs, and field playbooks, ensuring materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and maintain all Easy Ice technical training and reference materials, including SOPs, service guides, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Design and build structured learning modules in the Learning Management System (LMS) for technician onboarding, certification, and continued development.
- Create facilitator and participant guides that support instructor-led and Train-the-Trainer programs.
- Translate subject-matter expertise from Technical Services and Field Service Managers into clear, standardized documentation using Easy Ice templates and branding.
- Apply adult-learning and instructional-design methodologies to ensure retention, engagement, and measurable performance outcomes.
- Manage content version control, update schedules, and archiving to guarantee current and compliant materials.
- Partner with OEMs and internal experts to validate technical accuracy of all published instructions and job aids.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, field service, and safety teams to gather feedback and continuously improve learning tools.
- Maintain governance standards for consistency of format, terminology, and instructional quality across all learning assets.
- Monitor field performance metrics and repeat-service trends to identify knowledge gaps and prioritize new or revised training content.
- Lead periodic reviews of LMS content usage, completion rates, and assessment scores to measure training effectiveness.
- Support change-management initiatives by updating technical content and communicating revisions to field leadership and technicians.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Instructional Design, Engineering Technology, Education, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years developing technical training materials, SOPs, or service documentation in a field-service or industrial environment. Demonstrated proficiency in building and maintaining content within Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Docebo, Workday Learning, or Cornerstone. Strong writing, editing, and formatting skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly language. Proven knowledge of adult-learning and instructional-design methodologies (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick evaluation, etc.). High attention to accuracy, version control, and consistency in technical terminology, style, and branding. Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with multimedia, video, or digital authoring tools (Articulate, Camtasia preferred).
- Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with subject-matter experts, field operations, and OEM partners to validate technical accuracy and usability. Strong project-management ability—capable of balancing multiple content initiatives, timelines, and stakeholders. Willingness to travel 10-25% to company or field locations for training, content validation, and collaboration with operations teams.
