Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise Equipment Start Up and Commissioning process
- Supervise Assistant Superintendent (on larger projects) and/or craft activities such as:
- Determining method of construction
- Setting workforce levels
- Calculating material quantities
- Selecting equipment
- Arranging temporary power sources
- Establishing work schedule
- Documenting actual hours worked
- Maintain liaison with other departments (Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure materials, equipment, inspections, support craft activities, and project schedules are aligned
- Coordinate assigned work with different crafts, company departments, or other contractors
- Assist Labor Relations in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning workforce, and determining labor approach
- Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented
- Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule
- Assist in resolving construction problems such as productivity issues and work interfaces
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures
- Strong mechanical background with Data Centers experience preferred
- Titles by discipline may include Technical Superintendent, Mechanical Superintendent, or Electrical Superintendent
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control
- Demonstrated ability to control and supervise large groups
- Prior experience with Commercial or Industrial project scopes of at least $50M value
- Valid US driver’s license required; willingness and ability to travel (estimated at 70%+)
