Sr. Technical Manager
The Impact You’ll Make in This Role
Solventum is seeking a highly motivated leader for teams developing software products used domestically and internationally to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement of health care claims and to improve the quality of health care. Our cross-functional agile teams develop a mix Java applications and .NET applications. We are looking to redevelop and rearchitect to better suit our customer’s needs both on premises and in the cloud.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct technical supervision of one or more teams responsible for developing Solventum products, including Developers and Quality Assurance. This includes hiring, establishing and tracking goals and objectives, assigning workload, training, and facilitating the performance review process.
- Assist Product Owner(s) and/or Product Analyst(s) to deliver enhanced functionality under the existing technology stack while simultaneously architecting and developing the replacement technology stack in a methodical manner.
- Set technical direction and establish, prioritize and work with the development team to define and update the team’s backlog in conjunction with Product Owner(s), Business Manager and Architects.
- Mentor development staff with duties such as analysis, software design, prototyping, coding, debugging, test case creation, test case automation, test case execution, documentation, support, infrastructure maintenance.
- Participate on cross-functional teams, coordinate and communicate with Product Owners, Business Leaders, Developers and others.
- Champion Agile principles throughout the organization.
- Create an atmosphere of innovation and enable professional growth.
- Conflict / Change management ownership to ensure productivity.
- Be active in researching new technologies and staying abreast of trends in the tech industry.
- Responsible for growing overall technical competence of the engineering team, developing a strategic and technical roadmap in conjunction with Business Manager that addresses business needs, efficiencies and revenue.
Your Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Computer Science, Information Systems.
- Twelve (12) years of software development experience.
- Eight (8) years of team leadership experience, such as supervisor, manager, or team lead experience.
- Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and communicate business objectives, priorities, and direction to technical teams.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in an executive leadership role.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with consuming Web services and web application development (SOAP/REST, Javascript/Angular).
- Experience CI/CD.
- Experience with Java software development.
- Familiar with SQL and relational database design.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience working with distributed team members.
- Ability to solve problems in a logical, methodical, and time efficient manner.
- Ability to direct and influence others.
Pay and Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $163,200 - $224,400, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
Schedule and Work Location
Remote USA. Travel may include up to 10% domestic. Relocation assistance is not authorized. Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Onboarding Requirement: To improve the onboarding experience, you will have an opportunity to meet with your manager and other new employees as part of the Solventum new employee orientation. As a result, new employees hired for this position will be required to travel to a designated company location for on-site onboarding during their initial days of employment. Travel arrangements and related expenses will be coordinated and paid for by the company in accordance with its travel policy. Applies to new hires with a start date of October 1st 2025 or later.
