About the role

As a Technical Sr. Manager, you will manage the team responsible for all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and workforce development programs for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide formal supervision to employees, including monitoring training and development, conducting performance evaluations, and coaching.
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team’s daily activities, including setting work schedules, assigning tasks, and cross-training staff.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines; mentor and coach as needed.
  • Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities, including developing operating and capital budgets.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs.
  • Create and maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
  • Serve as the point of contact for maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel, and technicians.
  • Oversee all building systems, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical issues; remain current with latest technology trends.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with high-profile tenants, clients, owners, facility management teams, and vendors.
  • Drive the acquisition of new management contracts and facilitate the development of as-built drawings.
  • Respond to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns.
  • Apply broad knowledge of the business and discipline to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values and influencing others to adopt new perspectives.
  • Identify and solve complex technical and operational problems.
  • Understand and recognize the broader impact of decisions across the department.
  • Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5–8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance is preferred.
  • Ability to lead sensitive, complicated, and difficult conversations, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate teams to achieve broad operational targets impacting multiple disciplines.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Pay

The maximum salary for this role is $175,000 annually. Compensation offered will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience.
