Sr Tax Analyst
About the role
The Tax Senior Analyst supports all areas of the company's corporate tax department, focusing on tax return compliance, income tax provision, financial reporting, accounting processes, and controls, as well as tax planning. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an active CPA license, or a master’s degree in Taxation. Key responsibilities include preparing tax provisions, filing returns, conducting research, and collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740, and prepare related tax disclosures for SEC reporting.
- Prepare federal, state, and local income tax filings and supporting calculations, including estimates and extensions, and ensure timely filing.
- Assist with filing of the returns as assigned.
- Prepare other indirect tax filings including personal property tax, franchise tax, and sales and use tax.
- Research and respond to tax notices from federal, state, and local tax authorities.
- Collaborate with the company’s payroll function to ensure proper compliance with payroll tax reporting obligations.
- Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and financial and accounting guidance, and stay current with new and developing tax legislation having a tax impact on the company.
- Ensure tax files and documentation are properly maintained for compliance under SOX 404 regulations.
- Conduct tax research and prepare technical memoranda on certain tax matters.
- Support the company with M&A tax diligence, strategy, and integration efforts.
- Support the company with its research and development tax credit study and analysis.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. An active CPA license is required unless the candidate holds a Master’s degree in Taxation. Knowledge of corporate accounting is essential, along with 2+ years of tax experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department. A strong, hands-on knowledge of tax research tools such as CCH is recommended. Familiarity with Corptax, Bloomberg tax depreciation software, and NetSuite is recommended. Proficiency with business and communications software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot, and Outlook) is required. Self-starting and motivated, able to work without supervision to prioritize and meet deadlines. Excellent organizational and analytical skills, high attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects at once. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with the broader team, including external advisors.

Pay
$79,500.00 To $105,000/year
