Sr Tax Analyst

Responsibilities
- audit defense preparation, exposure analysis & mitigation
- systems improvement and implementation
- product taxability
- project-based initiatives, special projects like refund programs, annual reports, and licensing renewals or property tax payments as needed
- extensive data analysis, using Excel and databases to review detailed transactions with high volume at a fast pace
- interface with tax department personnel, individuals in finance, IT, and business partners throughout the organization
- Preparing and completing tax audits, including preparation and analysis of responses to document requests, preparation of appeals and other correspondence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other financial discipline or equivalent experience
- Three to five years of progressive tax experience required
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Previous personal property tax and licensing experience a plus
- Previous experience in a large corporate tax environment, a strong plus
- Previous experience in retail industry, a strong plus
- Previous experience with at least 30+ states, a strong plus
- Previous audit experience a plus
- Previous knowledge of SAP, LHQ, Vertex, and OneSource Property Tax a plus
- Excel skills at intermediate level or above (vlookup, pivot table required; sumif, countif preferred)
- General understanding of business acumen and accounting principles
- Ability to independently set own deadlines and organize deliverables
- Ability to analyze new or existing situations and provide solutions
- Desire to take initiative to lead or pursue tasks and inquiries
- Ability to work independently on tasks, including making sound decisions within responsibilities
- Demonstrated strong user and working knowledge of tax systems, Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and database applications
- Must be a strong team player
- Must conduct himself/herself in a professional, respectful, and appropriate manner at all times

Pay
The pay range for this position is $77,600.00 - $95,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
