Sr. System Administrator (High Performance Computing)

About the role

Responsible for managing and maintaining high-performance computing systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor HPC clusters, including hardware and software components.
• Develop and implement system administration policies and procedures.
• Provide technical support to users and troubleshoot system issues.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery testing.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration, preferably in HPC environments.
• Proficient in Linux/Unix administration, scripting, and automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience with HPC cluster management tools such as Slurm, Torque, or LSF.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or MPI.
• Hands-on experience with storage solutions like Lustre, GlusterFS, or Ceph.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Automation and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Pay

$80,000 - $100,000 annually based on experience.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
