Sr. System Administrator

About the role

Themis Insight is seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our team in the Fort Meade, MD vicinity. The position location may change based on the client's needs.

Responsibilities

• Supports implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
• Manages IT system infrastructure and associated processes.
• Supports IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Communicates status to agency management and internal customers.
• Supports the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process.
• Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems, installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components, implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• At least 10 years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Five years of additional System Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Three years of experience installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and using system security tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with ELK, Tripwire, VMware, RedHat SELinux security tool suite is preferred.

Skills

• Proven ability to provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Ability to provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Experience managing the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Experience providing assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Experience optimizing system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning.
• In-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
• Experience providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
• Experience with the following tools: ELK, Tripwire, VMware, RedHat SELinux security tool suite.
