Key Responsibilities
- Own category strategy and contract negotiations across several categories of spend: Media, Agency, Print & Print Services, Events, Content Production, Marketing Professional Services, and Marketing Analytics.
- Design data-driven sourcing strategies that effectively address stakeholder objectives while balancing cost, speed, quality, and innovation.
- Lead supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management (end to end) to ensure best-in-class procurement practices.
- Negotiate complex, global agreements focused on total value, negotiated savings (budgetary and avoidance), and market-reasonable terms.
- Use analytics and automation to enhance visibility and decision speed.
- Prepare RFQs, RFPs, bid documents, analyze and evaluate proposals, and administer the evaluation process.
- Counsel stakeholders on value engineering to drive cost containment and savings.
- Serve as trusted commercial advisor to senior leaders across Marketing, Merchandising, Digital/Print Advertising, and Marketing Analytics.
- Align sourcing strategies to enterprise goals for growth and margin.
- Develop organizational and team member capabilities, particularly in category management and strategic sourcing processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process issues impacting internal stakeholders.
- Manage and optimize strategic supplier relationships to drive innovation and accountability.
- Lead a high-performing team recognized for innovation and commercial excellence.
- Continuously expand your expertise of the vendor ecosystem by maintaining in-depth knowledge of the national vendor marketplace in the marketing categories.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA or JD preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive strategic sourcing or commercial leadership experience leading Media, Agency, Events, Content Production, Marketing Professional Services, Marketing Analytics.
- 3+ years of team leadership experience.
- Strong negotiation experience (Master Agreements, Statements of Work, Change Orders, etc.) and demonstrated ability to work with suppliers.
- Success in large-scale enterprise initiatives and demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing at a global scale and within a fast-paced, and dynamic organization is required.
- Outstanding ability to collaborate with business partners and teams in defining and implementing category strategies at scale.
- Solid leadership skills and demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, develop and retain outstanding strategic sourcing teams.
- Strong financial acumen and complex negotiation experience.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
