About the role
Sr. Scientists at KCAS Bio get to perform critical work impacting the industry and global health. They leverage their expertise in bioanalytical and scientific principles to carry out studies, develop methods, troubleshoot data, and communicate effectively with clients.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute all phases of assigned projects, including sample preparation, method development, troubleshooting, data analysis, and report generation
- Act as lead scientist, design experiments, provide work instructions, and train junior staff
- Communicate study progress and status to management
- Ensure compliance with study protocols, SOPs, and additional requirements
- Set up and change instrument configurations for various LCMS methods
- Prepare and present data summaries for client updates
- Provide technical expertise for process design and problem-solving
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or chemical/biochemical engineering, or related field with at least 5 years of experience with LC-MS/MS
- 2-3 years of experience overseeing projects
- Experience with bioanalytical sample preparation, quantitative LC-MS/MS, and multi-dimensional chromatography
- Experience with proteins and peptides, small molecule biomarkers, reversed phase, HILIC chromatography, protein digestions, and immunoaffinity enrichments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or chemical/biochemical engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience with LC-MS/MS
- Experience with bioanalytical sample preparation, quantitative LC-MS/MS, and multi-dimensional chromatography
- Experience with proteins and peptides, small molecule biomarkers, reversed phase, HILIC chromatography, protein digestions, and immunoaffinity enrichments

- Strong foundation in scientific principles and theories
