Sr Release Manager
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina | Job type: Contract | Work hours: 8am to 5pm
About the Role
The Senior Release Manager will be a key leader in driving the transformation of release management practices from legacy, fragmented processes to a modern, automated, and scalable operating model. This role will lead the design, implementation, and adoption of enterprise-wide release capabilities across International Technology and Global Payments Solutions Technology. The leader will bring a forward-looking mindset, combining deep domain expertise in global payments with proven experience modernizing complex technology environments. The role requires strong influence, strategic execution, and the ability to align diverse teams to a standardized, efficient, and risk-aware release framework.
Responsibilities
- Transformation Modernization
- Lead the evolution of release management from traditional/manual processes to a modern, automated, and data-driven model
- Define and execute a roadmap to standardize release practices across legacy and modern technology stacks
- Drive adoption of automation capabilities to accelerate delivery while reducing risk
- Enterprise Process Design & Implementation
- Design, document, and implement scalable, LOB-wide release management processes aligned to the target state operating model
- Establish clear standards for release planning, readiness, deployment, and post-release validation
- Ensure processes are sustainable, measurable, and consistently applied across all technology verticals
- Domain Leadership - Global Payments
- Apply deep expertise in international payments and global payment platforms to manage complex dependencies, integrations, and release risk
- Ensure seamless coordination across cross-border systems and critical payment flow
- Governance & Execution Excellence
- Establish and enforce release governance, including milestone tracking, controls, and risk management
- Drive disciplined execution across large-scale, multi-application releases
- Implement metrics and reporting to provide transparency and continuous improvement insight
- Automation & Optimization
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate release workflows and eliminate manual inefficiencies
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate release processes into CI/CD pipelines and tooling ecosystem
- Communication & Change Leadership
- Serve as a transformation leader, driving adoption through clear, structured communication at all levels of the organization
- Translate complex technical and process changes into actionable insights for executives and delivery teams
- Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Enablement & Adoption
- Develop high-quality playbooks, documentation, and training materials to support enterprise-wide adoption
- Mentor release managers and delivery teams to elevate overall release management maturity
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
Pay
$51.09 - $61.09 per hour
