About the role
The Senior Property Accountant oversees the property’s accounting functions, providing a wide range of accounting services and managing the entire income audit function. This role ensures the integrity of all revenue sources as reported through the property management systems and is responsible for the general ledger and income statement of the property. The position consistently monitors controls to minimize risk, manages accounts payable and receivable, and assists departments in maximizing efficiencies and revenue.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire income audit function, ensuring accurate reporting of all revenue sources.
- Maintain the general ledger and income statement for the property.
- Monitor and enforce controls to minimize risk of misappropriation of funds or assets.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all outlet accounting procedures.
- Assist departments in maximizing operational efficiencies and revenue opportunities.
- Manage labor costs, follow procurement guidelines, and apply sound business judgment.
- Ensure timely billing and collection of accounts receivable.
- Maintain established controls and standard procedures, serving as a resource for staff.
- Address guest concerns promptly and ensure the hotel meets or exceeds guest satisfaction standards.
- Analyze quality issues, identify training needs, and implement improvements.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Effectively manage hourly staff, including hiring, performance expectations, training, and recognition.
Requirements
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 1 year of experience.
- Strong preference for experience in a hospitality environment.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and business acumen.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred).
Pay
$90,000 - $110,000 per year, plus bonus.
