Responsibilities
- Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing financial data, and helping ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Record and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and confirming the accuracy of account activity.
- Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis to verify balances, investigate variances, and clear outstanding items.
- Complete bank reconciliations by matching cash activity, identifying exceptions, and following through on unresolved differences.
- Partner with internal teams to gather financial information, answer accounting questions, and support reporting needs.
- Aid in process improvements within accounting operations to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for general ledger activity and financial close support.
- Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation practices.
- Experience completing bank reconciliations and researching discrepancies with a high level of accuracy.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting fundamentals.
- Solid attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
