About the role

The Senior Accountant at Deseret Trust Company is responsible for performing investment and trust accounting activities, supporting financial reporting processes, and contributing to other daily and monthly operational tasks. This role entails a significant amount of operational processing on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with non-profit, fiduciary or trust accounting environments
• Perform daily transaction activities related to investments and client trust accounts
• Prepare and deliver assigned financial and operational reports accurately and on time
• Complete billings, reconciliations, and other recurring accounting processes
• Support month-end and year-end close procedures when assigned
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls
• Assist managers with various assignments and projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance, or auditing
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated attention to detail; time management; and ability to follow corporate policies & procedures

Qualifications

• Professional designations or certifications (CPA, CMA, CFA, other) preferred
• Prior experience working in a CPA firm and/or prior accounting/operations experience in banking, trust, or other financial services
• Familiarity with non-profit, fiduciary or trust accounting environments

Skills

• Proficiency with accounting software
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
