About the role
Amazon is seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) professional to join the Global Standards & Procedures (S&P) team. The role involves creating, implementing, and reviewing WHS programs that serve as the foundation of all Amazon operations worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver medium to large, cross-functional WHS procedures that serve major parts of the business.
- Develop, review, approve, and improve internal policies and procedures in compliance with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations.
- Implement and track WHS programs and provide execution support to field operations.
- Drive WHS programs and best practice standardization at both Regional and Global levels.
- Recommend improvements to programs scoping, building, testing, and deployment across the company.
- Partner with key stakeholders such as RME, Procurement, SLeD, Compliance Assurance, Audits, Legal, etc., in the development and continued improvement of high-risk operations procedures.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Requirements
- 5+ years of program or project management experience.
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of general AI tools.
- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience.
- Experience with process inspections and assessments.
- Experience in high-risk operations.
