Sr Packer

About the role

The Sr Packer performs all shipping, material movement, and receiving duties and confirms inventory levels. This role directly affects both internal and external customers, as well as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality goals of the division. Routine internal contacts may include Sales Administration, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Material Handling, and Planning.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret packing orders or lists to determine the items to be packed
• Inspect and prepare items for packaging, ensuring they are not damaged or defective
• Wrap, pack, and secure items in containers or boxes using a variety of cushioning materials
• Seal and label packages appropriately according to packing instructions or shipping regulations
• Operate machinery or use tools as required for packaging, such as tape dispensers
• Maintain an organized and clean work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
• Perform inventory checks and report any discrepancies to the supervisor
• Follow all departmental and company safety policies, including maintaining warehouse and work areas following 5S principles
• Assemble, prepare, and load containers or pallets for shipping
• Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in a shipping and/or receiving environment and/or data entry experience
• Knowledge of materials management and inventory accuracy principles

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a shipping and/or receiving environment and/or data entry experience
• Truck driving experience

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like
• Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day
• Ability to operate heavy machinery
• Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions

Pay

The estimated salary range for this role in the state of Missouri is between $18.50 and $28.20 per hour. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program.
