About the role

As a Sr. Manager, Wealth Advisor at Schwab Wealth Advisory, you will manage complex client relationships, deliver holistic financial planning, and provide tailored investment guidance. You will collaborate with an experienced advisory team to support clients through intricate financial decisions and help them stay focused on long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing client relationships, delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment guidance aligned with Schwab’s approach to investing.
  • Collaborate with an experienced advisory team to support clients in making complex financial decisions.
  • Communicate with clarity and empathy, translating sophisticated planning and investment concepts into actionable advice that builds trust and enhances client outcomes.
  • Set an operating cadence for a book of business, prioritizing high-impact activities, coordinating with partners, and ensuring consistent service delivery for complex, multi-workstream client needs.
  • Develop and communicate holistic financial plans for high-complexity scenarios, synthesizing inputs into recommendations that align portfolios with client objectives, risk profiles, and long-term outcomes.
  • Exercise sound judgment and risk awareness, recognizing when situations exceed scope or require additional expertise, and escalating issues with clear context and options to protect the client experience and meet fiduciary and regulatory expectations.

Requirements

  • Client Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead complex client relationships through advanced discovery, navigating sensitive conversations diplomatically, and influencing decisions by translating sophisticated planning and investment concepts into clear, tailored guidance.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize high-impact activities, coordinate across partners, and ensure service consistency and follow-through on complex, multi-workstream client needs.
  • Financial Planning: Proven ability to develop and communicate holistic financial plans for high-complexity scenarios, synthesizing inputs into recommendations that align portfolios with client objectives, risk profiles, and long-term outcomes.
  • Coachability: Demonstrates a senior learning mindset by seeking input from peers and leaders, integrating feedback into measurable behavior changes, and coaching others to raise advisory quality and client experience.
  • Self-Awareness: Exercises sound judgment and risk awareness, recognizing when situations exceed scope or require additional expertise, surfacing concerns early, and escalating with clear context and options to protect the client experience and meet fiduciary and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

  • CFP® designation or CFA® designation
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Active FINRA Series 7 license - May be obtained with a 120-day condition of employment
  • Active FINRA Series 66 license (or equivalent) - May be obtained within the first 120 days
