About the role
A Senior Training Manager in the Banking Operations department plays a pivotal role in shaping an organization's talent landscape. Success in this strategic position requires a multifaceted skill set that blends leadership, instructional expertise, business acumen, and robust project management capabilities. Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and development of engaging and effective learning experiences, applying principles of adult learning and various instructional design models.
- Manage project teams using Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and traditional Waterfall methodologies, ensuring clear communication, regular progress updates, and comprehensive project reports.
- Define clear project goals, timelines, and resource requirements for L&D initiatives, creating detailed project plans and securing stakeholder alignment.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to project timelines and outcomes, demonstrating proactive problem-solving skills.
- Design and implement coaching and mentoring programs to foster individual and team growth, and provide personal coaching to develop and mentor team members and other leaders.
- Act as an internal consultant to diagnose performance issues and recommend learning and non-learning solutions to improve individual and organizational performance.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in principles of how adults learn and overseeing the design and development of learning experiences.
- Knowledge of various instructional design models and learning modalities, including e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended learning.
- Familiarity with project management frameworks such as Agile and traditional Waterfall models, and the ability to select and apply the most appropriate methodology for different types of L&D projects.
- Advanced technical skills in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (Articulate, Workday Learning, SharePoint).
- Experience delivering training on processes supported within the brokerage/financial services industry.
- Effective facilitation of training sessions and delivery of compelling presentations to diverse audiences.
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, prioritizing, sequencing, and executing on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with emphasis on root/cause analysis and process improvement application.
- Experience with Project management tools, AI tools and agents, Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Planner, Copilot, etc.
Preferred
- Extensive experience delivering training on processes supported within the brokerage/financial services industry.
- The ability to effectively facilitate training sessions and deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences, from new hires to senior executives.
- Familiarity with Project management tools and AI tools and agents, Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Planner, Copilot, etc.
