The Opportunity:
Smurfit Westrock is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and results-driven learning manager to lead the development of their Commercial Academy and collaborate with division HR, Talent & L&D to deliver and implement these tools for effective business results. This role will consult and partner across the organization to provide learning solutions aligned with business needs, focusing on the Commercial, Marketing, and Paper Sales Organizations. The position involves remote work with flexible 40% travel, supporting North America.
- Build partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to identify learning needs that support the business strategy
- Create effective branding and internal marketing campaigns for Commercial Programming
- Conduct needs assessments, synthesize information, and recommend solutions to build learning opportunities aligned with organizational objectives
- Organize delivery and develop scalable learning solutions that are integrated into employee experience
- Manage and implement successful solutions implementation by identifying key sponsors, creating project plans, and collaborating effectively
- Facilitate in-person and virtual learning experiences, ensuring skill and/or knowledge acquisition towards intended business results
- Align and establish internal orientation and onboarding material to integrate into Division Orientation and Onboarding Tools
What you need to succeed:
- Preferred 5-7 Years in Learning & Development within commercial spaces
- Commercial business drivers associated with possible learning solutions
- Performance analysis, including business analysis, performance gap assessment, and cause analysis
- Project management, facilitation, and presentation tools and techniques
- Experience as a well-rounded learning and development professional, demonstrating creativity and technical ability (e.g., adult learning principles, instructional design, competency modeling, development planning, leadership assessments, mentoring, coaching, leadership development, team development, and change management)
- Self-driven and capable of consulting with senior leaders and stakeholders, as well as working closely with front-line sales and commercial sales teams
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Availability to travel approximately 40%
