About the role

The Senior Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, enhancing employee performance, supporting development, recruiting, planning P&C initiatives, managing employee relations, implementing policies, and overseeing wellness initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct employee and labor relations program
  • Interpret and guide management activities related to labor contracts
  • Provide interpretation of labor contracts to managers and employees
  • Oversee grievance and arbitration procedures, performance issues, and disciplinary actions
  • Facilitate communication and working relationships with employee representative organizations

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years HR experience in multiple locations
  • 2+ years experience in union environment
  • Experience in hospitality, food service, casinos, stadiums, arenas, and retail environments
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Experience in employee training or Learning and Development
  • Experience with unionized workforce and labor relations
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, especially California
  • HR Certification (PHR/SPHR, GPHR)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field
  • Experience interfacing at all levels in a matrixed or international organization
  • Global and cultural effectiveness
  • PC literacy
  • Effective communication with all levels
  • Team player and manager
  • Able to command credibility and influence across cultures and levels
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

  • Knowledge of employment law, especially California
  • Experience with coaching management
  • Experience with unionized workforce and labor relations
  • Experience in employee training or Learning and Development
  • Experience with interpreting labor contracts
  • Experience with grievance and arbitration procedures
  • Experience with performance management systems
  • Experience with compensation, benefits, and safety systems
  • Experience with new employee orientation
  • Experience with administrative tasks like recruitment, interviewing, selecting, and terminating employees
  • Experience with disciplinary procedures
  • Experience with administering performance management systems, training initiatives, and recreation programs

$126,000.00 - $155,000.00 annually
