About the role

The Sr HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in coordinating the Human Resources Team's daily functions, offering support and supervision to ensure compliance with McLane Company's training practices and federal laws. This position involves facilitating mandatory training sessions, managing recruitment processes, and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and observe in various training programs to ensure compliance with McLane Company's training practices and federal laws.
  • Facilitate mandatory harassment/substance abuse training, safety, and arrange special classes for teammates.
  • Maintain logo clothing, relocation, FMLA records, workers compensation and safety investigations, documentation, reporting and evacuation plans.
  • Clock in special events such as CMN, United Way, teammate parties, etc.
  • Support HR Manager as needed, ensuring the employment process adheres to legal guidelines and treats applicants fairly and consistently.
  • Manage requisitions and develop recruitment strategies with managers, including advertising and reviewing applications and resumes.
  • Coordinate and attend career fairs, receive, review, and screen applications and resumes, communicate application status to applicants, check references and verify previous employment.
  • Provide advice to supervisors on hiring/offer procedures, arrange pre-employment paperwork and orientation, and maintain Jobs Inbox.
  • Share in responsibility for maintaining teammate morale through open lines of communication and policy interpretation.
  • Coordinate teammate meetings, assist in facilitating New Hire Orientation, and interact daily with teammates and managers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience, with working knowledge of Human Resources.
  • Hands-on experience in training and coaching in a diverse environment.
  • Working knowledge of safety practice guidelines, a must.
  • Working knowledge of various office automation tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others as required.
  • Ability to identify and work through problems and conflicting issues in a clear and diplomatic manner.
  • Focused ability to review and interpret data, transactions, policies, and business practices.
  • Effective communication skills (verbally and written) with teammates at all levels.
  • Ability to work in diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding the organization's future success.
  • Ability to make sound decisions that have a positive impact on the bottom line.

What You’ll Do

As a Sr HR Generalist, you will assist in various training programs, facilitate mandatory training sessions, manage recruitment processes, and maintain records. You will also coordinate special events, support the HR Manager, and share in responsibility for maintaining teammate morale.
