About the Role
This position is responsible for creating a “Premium” experience for customers through timely transition of new customers, direct support of existing customers, support of payroll processing, researching tax issues, and providing leadership and knowledge to fellow team members. The Senior HCM Payroll Specialist troubleshoots situations, educates clients, develops relationships, and demonstrates the depth, breadth, and level of care that creates value in the Insperity relationship. This role supports clients with a focus on customer service, teamwork, and competency in the software system required for client support.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to existing customer-centric processes and procedures that drive delivery of premium service.
- Initiate proactive calls to customers based on customer satisfaction indicators via survey results to address issues.
- Handle larger and more complex customers for reconciliation of wages and taxes, and timely payroll processing.
- Support processes and procedures to ensure integrity and accountability for SOC-1 compliance.
- Identify and engage service solutions within and outside Insperity Payroll Services (IPS).
- Identify, develop, recommend, and implement process improvements that result in improved efficiency, effectiveness, and cost savings.
- Assist the Tax department with research and timely filing of tax returns during peak filing periods.
- Assist with training new team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other related field is required.
- Five to seven years of experience in a high-growth payroll service bureau operation, including on-boarding and supporting customers, and designing processes and procedures.
- Customer service experience in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage resources to budget and identify and fulfill staffing needs.
Qualifications
- Broad-based exposure to various HR disciplines and understanding of their role and impact on business as it relates to payroll, benefits, taxation, accounting, employment documentation, and general HR practices.
- Proficient in designing and delivering concise and clear presentations to a broad audience.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects; acts as a core business unit expert for key company initiatives.
- Facilitate and coordinate testing and information-gathering sessions for valuable feedback.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs and demonstrated ability to learn other application programs as needed.
