NIWC Atlantic is the In-Service Engineering Agency (ISEA) responsible for lifecycle support of the Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Program, the Navy's flagship Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) system installed on U.S. Navy ships and Coast Guard platforms. Support includes engineering, requirements analysis, testing, technical writing, fleet technical support, training, procurement, configuration management, production, warehousing, drafting, and repair to ensure deployed SSEE systems and Navy operators succeed against national adversaries.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the assembly, integration, and testing of ship-specific system hardware and/or cabling during new installations and/or system upgrade events.
  • Apply critical thinking skills and organizational expertise to plan and execute installation and modification of systems on USN surface combatants, special mission platforms, USNS ships, and shore installations.
  • Communicate and coordinate with agile stakeholders and fleet customers electronically and in person.
  • Represent the U.S. Government in executing high-visibility, high-priority tasks on ships in port.
  • Document support needed via daily reporting and the use of Jira.
  • Take initiative to redline drawings when approved, capturing the system as built during installation.
  • Travel required for site surveys and installations.

Requirements

  • Experience executing the assembly, integration, and testing of ship-specific system hardware and/or cabling during new installations and/or system upgrade events.
  • Working knowledge of the radio frequency spectrum, including calibration and testing equipment (e.g., Time Domain Reflectometers, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Frequency Counters, Oscilloscopes, and Digital Multi Meters) and basic antenna troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Skills

  • Experience executing assembly, integration, and testing of ship-specific hardware/cabling on U.S. Navy ships.
  • Ability to interpret documentation (schematics, cable run sheets) for effective shipboard installations.
  • General working knowledge of hardware installation, system configuration, administration, and maintenance of Hostile Forces Integrated Targeting Service (HITS), DRT, Cryptologic Carry-On Program (CCOP), Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE), and Mission Modules.
  • Experience overseeing inventory and kitting for system upgrades.
  • Successful experience leading teams during shipboard system installations.

Schedule
