About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation: The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid! We are looking for a Sr CS Application Engineer. This position can be worked remotely and reports to our HQ in Wendell, NC. Working with our BDMs, you will create technical and commercial field service engineering and/or modify proposals based on review and mark-up of customer’s technical specifications. Roles & Responsibilities Creation of technical and commercial field service proposals with a focus on complex modifications, preventative maintenance, and long term service agreements.Review and mark-up of customer’s technical specificationsCollaborate and communicate with both Siemens Regional and Product Business Development, other sales channels, and other Application Engineers on proposals, projects and opportunitiesCoordinate activities during the preparation of proposal documents describing technical, financial and legal aspects of the offerCost calculation for service scope of supplyParticipation of bid preparation, scope, schedule, budget and division of responsibilities between team membersPreparation of all proposal documents including official LoA (Limit of Authority) documentsSupport sales managers during negotiations and clarificationsKeep track of all opportunities via Siemens CRM toolsCRM and LOA processes are key requirements and metrics for accurate pipeline management and bid approval process respectivelyEnsure that all relevant project information, documentation and communication are handed over to project execution organization after contract awardHandover to project organization according to PM@Siemens guidelineParticipate in improvement of sales tools, processes and procedures to establish “best in class” bidding processes You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: 5+ years engineering/project management/field service experience in transmission and/or distribution products, or equivalentMust have excellent interpersonal, negotiating, writing and presentation skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contactsA history of measurable goal-driven successSuccess in working in a multicultural team environment Preferred Qualifications: Understanding and/or work experience with some or all of the following areas is preferred:Medium voltage switchgear (both AIS and GIS)LV switchgear and breakersReview of detailed specificationsExperience using Sieops (Salesforce) About Siemens: We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
