Sr. Compute Solutions Architect, Amazon EC2 Core
About the role
The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from large accounts. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As a Compute Solution Architect (SA), you will work with customers globally, partner with engineering, business development, and technical field teams to drive the adoption of Amazon EC2 Compute resources.
Responsibilities
- Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
- Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain-aligned GTM teams to unblock customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
- Act as a thought leader, sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public speaking events like AWS Summit and AWS re:Invent.
- Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best-in-class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
- Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
- Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in design/implementation/operations/consulting with distributed applications. Proficiency in written and verbal communication, presenting complex technical information clearly and concisely to executives and non-technical leaders, and experience deploying and running containers at scale are essential. Experience with debugging and troubleshooting applications in Java, Ruby, Python, C/C++, Go, or Rust, and familiarity with orchestration technologies like EKS, ECS, and Karpenter is also required. Additionally, breadth of expertise deploying multi-az and multi-region applications on a public cloud provider is preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
- AWS certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification, or an associate's degree or above.
Skills
Proficiency with debugging and troubleshooting application's developed in Java, Ruby, Python, C/C++, Go, or Rust language(s) and frameworks. Experience deploying and running containers at scale including orchestration technologies like EKS, ECS and Karpenter. Breadth of expertise deploying multi-az and multi-region applications on a public cloud provider.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually.
