Sr. Business Systems Analyst
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join a highly collaborative team responsible for 24x7 production and analytical support for enterprise-critical applications used nationwide. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in incident-driven environments, enjoys deep technical analysis, and is comfortable supporting both on-prem and cloud-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 & Level 2 production support as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Triage, manage, and resolve incidents, coordinating across technical and business stakeholders
- Perform advanced data analysis using complex SQL queries to diagnose issues and support investigations
- Analyze application logs and system behavior across on-prem and cloud environments
- Support applications deployed in both traditional and cloud infrastructures
- Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and system behaviors to improve support efficiency
- Participate in testing, system health checks, and operational readiness activities
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role in a production environment
- Proven experience working on a 24x7 on-call production support team
- Strong incident management experience (triage, prioritization, coordination, resolution)
- Advanced SQL skills (writing complex queries for analysis and troubleshooting)
- Experience supporting mission-critical applications with high availability requirements
- Ability to work across multiple communication channels in fast-paced situations
- Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redshift, SQL Server or similar)
- Cloud platforms and services (AWS or comparable)
- Log analysis and monitoring tools
- Ticketing and workflow tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
- On-prem and cloud-based application architectures
