About the role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Business Development Manager, Antibody Discovery based in United States. This is a senior commercial opportunity focused on expanding the market for antibody discovery and biopharmaceutical development solutions. You will build strategic relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and other life sciences organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Possess advanced degree and/or at least 5 years of experience in antibody discovery, lead engineering, protein engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Develop, drive, and secure a consistent pipeline of antibody development service contracts and strategic commercial agreements.
  • Evaluate incoming partnership and licensing opportunities involving antibody libraries and value-added discovery solutions.
  • Lead presentations and strategic pitches, clearly communicating technical capabilities, scientific expertise, and commercial offerings with support from internal scientific specialists.
  • Lead negotiations, due diligence, contracting, and deal execution for antibody discovery collaborations, partnerships, and commercial agreements.
  • Build financial models, contracts, agreements, and business cases that support new partnerships and customer opportunities.
  • Research market conditions, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and industry trends to identify attractive collaboration and partnership opportunities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive roadmap of prospective customers, collaborators, and partnerships to support a healthy, growing, and diversified revenue pipeline.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Intellectual Property, Finance, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders to advance customer-facing initiatives.
  • Oversee the development of customized commercial materials, including proposals, RFP responses, presentations, and technical sales collateral.
  • Ensure business development activities align with applicable regulatory requirements and ISO 13485 standards.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree and/or at least 5 years of experience in antibody discovery, lead engineering, protein engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • PhD or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales, business development, licensing, or another commercial role within the biotherapeutics or biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven and successful track record of pharmaceutical industry sales, strategic partnering, or business development, preferably focused on protein or antibody engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of antibody discovery and antibody engineering technologies, markets, and applications.
  • Experience operating in a global or geographically distributed commercial environment is preferred.
  • Background in corporate, regional, or global sales and marketing involving antibody discovery, development products, or scientific services.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with both scientific and commercial stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling customer value propositions and commercially viable partnership opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess market, financial, and partnership opportunities and drive them through execution.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $120,000–$170,000 USD for the New York Metropolitan Area.
