Sr Backend Engineer, Billing

This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the systems that manage plans, pricing, and entitlements, exposing functionality via API
• Transform billing functionality from a monolithic architecture into independent, testable services
• Ensure end-to-end correctness in usage metering, invoicing, and customer-visible usage data
• Manage operational tasks for built systems, including SLOs, alerting, and proactive issue resolution

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering with a focus on complex backend systems
• Demonstrated experience in decomposing monolithic applications
• Proficient in maintaining high correctness standards, including idempotency and reconciliation
• Skilled in at least one backend language such as Go, Rust, or Python
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and reliable production ownership

$163,000 – $224,070 annually
