About the role
The Senior Application Launch Manager will lead projects implementing Kenco's Warehouse Management (WMS) systems across the company's network of sites. This role requires a collaborative approach to project management, with responsibilities including design, implementation planning, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Writes business requirement documentation for configurations, customizations, and integrations.
- Develops documented customizations for WMS, LMS, or WCS systems.
- Ensures projects are launched on time according to agreed timelines.
- Collaborates with senior management and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders through regular status reports.
- Manages risks, develops mitigation plans, and defines project success criteria.
- Conducts post-mortem reviews and creates recommendations for future projects.
- Oversees the transition of projects to production support and ensures smooth handover.
- Mentors junior level resources on the project.
- Supports management in defining best practices for project management.
- Submits and recommends budget adjustments for post-launch costs.
- Tracks departmental activities and reports progress to management.
- Designs test plans and provides oversight for system performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in project management and implementation, specifically with WMS and/or LMS.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience integrating WMS systems with ERP systems (such as SAP).
- Ability to create positive business relationships with clients and third-party service providers.
- Knowledge of distribution center/logistics concepts, including warehousing terminology and best practices.
- Highly motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong business planning and analytical skills, including market intelligence and financial analysis.
