About the Role

We're looking for a motivated Sr. Administrative Assistant to join the Capital Delivery Division of the City of Fort Worth Water Department. In this position, you'll support the Capital Delivery team responsible for planning, designing, and delivering the projects that keep Fort Worth's water and wastewater systems operating reliably. From payroll and benefits enrollment to recruitment support, employee assistance, FMLA, and Workers' Compensation coordination, you'll play a key part in keeping essential operations moving. As a vital member of the division, you'll handle daily administrative tasks, HRC/MRC duties and assist with special projects, and contribute to a collaborative, supportive workplace. We're looking for a detail-oriented self-starter who excels independently and within a team, and who brings strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support staff through work assignments, training, and performance management
  • Serve as a supporting Human Resources Coordinator (HRC), including payroll processing, benefits enrollment, recruitment support, special projects, and other administrative task as assigned
  • Support FMLA and Workers' Compensation claims and serve as an MRC (Medical Records Custodian), when needed
  • Assist in contract management and meeting coordination
  • Prepare and finalize written material, including M&C's and SOPs
  • Maintain smooth operations by troubleshooting issues and upholding established policies and procedures
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, contributing to a positive and effective work environment
  • Communicate effectively at all organizational levels while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Providing staff support, including serving as backup for other staff positions in their absence and performing related additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, Business Administration, human resources or related field, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration or a related field
  • Three (3) years of clerical and administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
  • Previous administrative experience with a large municipality
  • Two (2) years' Experience looking up data and/or making entries in PeopleSoft (ERP)
  • Two (2) years' experience with FMLA, medical records, workers compensation claims and ADA accommodation
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

Pay

$54,879 - $71,343 annual compensation

Schedule

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm (working in office team environment)
