Speech Therapist - PRN

About the Role

The Speech Therapist in Home Health assesses and evaluates patients with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. They develop and implement treatment plans, perform interventions to improve patient well-being, and monitor progress in a supportive, equitable, and patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech therapy services within legal scope and in coordination with the healthcare team
• Evaluate patient function using diagnostic tests and assist in developing therapy plans
• Treat patients to enhance communication skills based on their condition
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and changes to supervising staff
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members on speech therapy techniques
• Adapt to diverse home environments and patient backgrounds

Requirements

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, or access to public transit

Preferred Skills

• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Availability for weekend rotation
