About the Role

A team of specialized consultants who deliver strong operations, guest experience, and compelling visual merchandising in Apparel & Accessories, Home, Baby, Core Beauty, and Electronics. Teams prioritize guest experience while ensuring product availability and ease of shopping—pulling, filling, pricing, setting, staging, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom.

This role helps build skills for a career by developing expertise in:

  • Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture
  • Retail business fundamentals (sales trends, inventory management, pricing, promotions)
  • Planning daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and sales goals
  • Leading multiple departments while balancing team expertise
  • Interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a consistent, easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience
  • Train and hold team members accountable for guest experience commitments and operational consistency
  • Review guest, financial, and team metrics to identify opportunities, drive improvements, and celebrate wins
  • Model, train, and coach team members on guest service expectations and inclusivity
  • Plan and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals, including merchandising sets, promotions, and events
  • Lead and demonstrate best practices for onboarding, development, and coaching to close skill gaps
  • Assign tasks based on workload, guest traffic, and business priorities
  • Encourage team members to use department tools (e.g., fitting rooms, testers, displays) to provide personalized recommendations
  • Partner with third-party vendors to maintain brand standards and merchandising
  • Support execution of merchandise set changes and visual presentations
  • Ensure product organization, correct signage, and seasonal merchandising
  • Maintain backroom processes, organization, and replenishment to keep the sales floor stocked
  • Lead team in prioritizing guest experience, including maintaining clean and safe fitting rooms
  • Establish clear goals, hold team members accountable, and foster a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Model and enforce physical security processes and merchandise protection strategies
  • Assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities as needed to support the guest experience
  • Address store emergencies and compliance needs, including federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., adult beverage laws)
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Previous retail experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable
  • Proficiency in using handheld scanners, frequency devices, and other technology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong workload management and task prioritization skills
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
  • Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
  • Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately
  • Handle cash register operations as needed
  • Climb up and down ladders as needed
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance
  • Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times)
  • Reliable and prompt attendance; hours may fluctuate based on business needs (no guaranteed 40 hours per week)
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
