About the Role

As a Specialty Sales Team Leader, you will lead a team of specialized consultants in Apparel and Accessories (A&A), Home, Baby, Core Beauty, or Electronics. Your role focuses on guest experience, operations, and visual merchandising to inspire guests and build sales.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly shopping experience
  • Train and hold team members accountable for guest experience and operational standards
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities and drive results
  • Demonstrate a service culture prioritizing guest experience; model, train, and coach team members on guest service expectations
  • Plan and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals, including merchandising sets, promotions, and events
  • Lead and develop a team of consultants who are knowledgeable and passionate about their departments
  • Assign daily tasks based on workload and guest traffic patterns
  • Encourage team members to use department tools (e.g., fitting rooms, testers, displays) to provide personalized guest recommendations
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met
  • Support execution of changes to merchandise sets and visual presentations
  • Maintain backroom processes, organization, and replenishment to ensure product availability
  • Prioritize guest experience by ensuring fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe (if applicable)
  • Establish clear goals and expectations; hold team members accountable
  • Demonstrate and lead a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Model and enforce physical security processes to enhance in-store security
  • Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application
  • Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs, including federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable
  • Proficiency in using handheld scanners, frequency devices, and other technology equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong workload and task management skills
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Effective communication skills
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
  • Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
  • Ability to interpret instructions, reports, and information
  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
  • Climb up and down ladders as needed
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance
  • Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)

This is a full-time role, but hours may fluctuate based on business needs and are not guaranteed at 40 hours per week.
