Responsibilities
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen’s products and effectively communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization.
- Act as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and exceeding sales targets through both in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage customer relationships, customizing discussions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities, and develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously grow as a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative.
- Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle while keeping patient impact at the forefront.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Specialty Representative: Bachelor's Degree or Associate's degree and 4 years of sales experience or High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
- Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field or Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field or High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
- Local market knowledge and established relationships in the territory.
- A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
- Adaptability in core competencies: planning and organizing, leveraging business/industry/technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving for results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.
Pay
The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,880 – $121,602. The expected annual salary range for Senior Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $109,631 – $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
