Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary customer contact and implement marketing strategy to promote Amgen products under the direction of the District Manager.
  • Provide current, comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate product utilization.
  • Act as a sales leader to achieve territory targets by delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education programs, and exceeding goals through both in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with accounts by customizing interactions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
  • Demonstrate passion for Amgen products throughout the sales cycle, consistently building the brand while keeping patient impact at the forefront.

Requirements

Specialty Representative

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience
  • OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience

Senior Specialty Representative

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
  • OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
  • OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases
  • Local market knowledge
  • Established relationships in the territory
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration
  • Adaptability with core competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; Cultivating Internal and External Relationships

Pay

The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,816 to $121,602. The expected annual salary range for Senior Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $109,631 to $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
