As a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative, you will connect medical professionals with Amgen’s clinical products, helping navigate the complex payer environment and driving appropriate product utilization. Responsibilities
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen’s products and communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive product utilization.
- Achieve territory sales targets by delivering branded sales messages, conducting educational programs, and engaging customers both in-person and virtually.
- Develop and manage customer relationships, customizing interactions based on needs, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining contracts.
- Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, providing feedback on marketing strategy and developing territory plans with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously grow as a representative.
- Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products and patient impact throughout the sales cycle while upholding Amgen’s values: science-based, competitive, ethical, collaborative, and accountable.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications for Specialty Representative:
- Bachelor’s degree, or
- Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience, or
- High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
Basic Qualifications for Senior Specialty Representative:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific fields (non-sales), or
- Associate’s degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific fields (non-sales), or
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific fields (non-sales).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three or more years of sales experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
- Local market knowledge and established relationships in the territory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
- Adaptability in core competencies: planning and organizing, leveraging business/industry/technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating relationships.
Pay
The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,880 – $121,602. For Senior Specialty Representative, the range is $109,631 – $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
