Responsibilities
- Oversees the Specialty Pharmacy Program for Rx Plus Pharmacy and Expedien Rx Pharmacy.
- Coordinates daily assignments and activities for a team of remote and onsite pharmacists and technicians to meet the pharmacy's goals.
- Manages intake, claims adjudication, prior authorization coordination, and patient management processes to ensure service standards are met and patients receive consistent care.
- Trains and manages the Specialty Pharmacy team, requiring an understanding of all pharmacy processes and positions.
- Solves issues, including escalations and customer complaints, and provides education to Specialty Pharmacy staff.
- Enforces departmental and pharmacy policies, initiating development plans to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal service standards.
- Coordinates daily assignments and activities for pharmacists and technicians.

- Trains and supervises the Specialty Pharmacy team, ensuring all pharmacy processes and positions are understood and executed efficiently.
- Solves escalations and customer complaints, providing education and support to Specialty Pharmacy staff.
- Enforces departmental and pharmacy policies, initiating development plans to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal service standards.
- Provides staffing support and maintains expertise in prescription data entry, customer service operations, patient management, and clinical pharmacist processes.
- Supervises assigned personnel, adjusting assignments and workflow to achieve desired service outcomes.
- Conducts monthly one-on-one meetings with direct reports, reviewing prescription quality indicators and overall performance.
- Maintains department scheduling and time off requests, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient operations.
- Maintains productivity, financial, and quality metrics, providing reports as needed.
- Participates in new hire recruitment, evaluating candidates for best fit within the organization.
- Represents the department on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives, providing root cause analysis and audits to facilitate continuous quality improvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of science degree in pharmacy [Required]
- Doctorate doctor of pharmacy degree from an American Council of Pharmacy Education accredited college of pharmacy or foreign pharmacy graduate fpgec certified by the NABP [Required]
- 3+ years as a practicing pharmacist [Required]
- Previous experience in a supervisory position [Preferred]
- Previous experience with specialty pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), managed health care, or insurance company [Preferred]
- Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]
